John Oubre, D.D.S., Orthodontist, Lafayette, LA
Dr. John Oubre graduated from Louisiana State University’s dental school in 1980, and in 1982, earned his orthodontic degree from there as well. Since 1982, he has been providing his patients with exceptional comprehensive orthodontic care.
As board certified orthodontist through the American Board of Orthodontics since 1988, Dr. Oubre feels it’s essential to stay on the cutting-edge of orthodontics. He maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations to keep up-to-date on all the latest techniques and technologies. He has been a member of the American Association of Orthodontics since 1982, and he is a past president of the Louisiana Association of Orthodontics. He is currently in the Roth Study Group and a member of the Roth Williams International Society of Orthodontics.
In his personal life, Dr. Oubre is married to Jeannie Wedemeyer, who also has a dental degree. They have five children: Michael, Matthew, Thomas, Olivia, and James. Away from the office, Dr. Oubre enjoys playing golf and participating in his children’s many activities.
Matthew Oubre, D.D.S., M.S., Orthodontist, Lafayette, LA
After graduating from the Louisiana State University’s School of Dentistry in 2014, Dr. Matthew Oubre returned to LSU School of Dentistry’s Department of Orthodontics to receive his degree in orthodontics and a Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2017. While in residency, Matthew received various distinctions, including the J. Jerome Hebert Award from the Louisiana Association of Orthodontists for outstanding achievement in 2016, followed by the James P. Bordelon Memorial Award for clinical excellence in orthodontics in 2017. Shortly after, in July of 2017, Dr. Matt joined our practice. He’s now an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics as well as a board certified orthodontist since 2019 with the American Board of Orthodontics. He has continued to carry on our practice’s extensive legacy of exceptional orthodontic treatment!
In his personal life, Dr. Matthew is married to Stephanie Vu, who also has her dental degree, and together they have two sons, Allen, who was born in 2018 and Vincent who was born in 2021. While away from the office, he enjoys playing with his boys and Gizmo, the family dog, traveling, graphic design, and rooting for the Saints, Tigers, and Cajuns in the fall!
